DAY 22 OF 30

WEEK 4: Bearing Fruit in Every Season

Focus: Living as a rooted child of God—steady, fruitful, and resilient in every season.

Day 22: Faith in the Waiting

"The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." Lamentations 3:25-26

Waiting feels like wasting. In a world obsessed with speed and outcomes, to wait can feel like failure. It can feel like you are missing out. Like your moment will pass.

But in the Kingdom of God, everything is different. It's an upside-down Kingdom where waiting is sacred.

Lamentations was written in the midst of despair. A broken city. A grieving people. And yet, tucked within its sorrow is this gem: “It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

Not because waiting is easy. But because waiting teaches us trust. It causes us to shift our reliance from ourselves or our circumstance to the one who is our rescue.

Waiting strips us of control and reveals where our hope truly lies. It causes us to lean into God - not because of what we can get from Him, but because of who He is. He is our Peace. Our Shelter. Our Redemption.

Maybe you’re waiting for healing. Or restoration. Or breakthrough. Friend, you are not forgotten in the delay. God is not late. He is always working - often in ways you can’t yet see.

Faith in the waiting says, “Even here, God is good.” It keeps seeking. It keeps hoping. It holds onto the truth that the same God who made the promise is faithful to fulfill it.

So take heart. Let the waiting draw you deeper. The waiting is not wasted when you wait on the Lord.

Reflection Questions:

  • What are you waiting on God for?
  • How can you wait with hope instead of despair?
  • What has God taught you in seasons of waiting?

About this Plan

Rooted: 30 Days to Strengthen Your Faith Through Struggle

We often view struggle as a bad thing to be avoided. Who wants pain, right? But what if it's in the struggle that God does some of his best refining work? What if it's in the struggle we are strengthened for the journey ahead? Jesus told us we would have trials - but we can take heart because we never walk the valley's alone. Join me for 30 days as we travel through scripture and strengthen our faith together in the face of struggle.
