Slowing to Be With God Amidst an Anxious, Fast-Paced Life

DAY 3 OF 5

We are free from sin through the blood of Jesus Christ! Let yourself feel all that He lifts off of you and lovingly chooses to bear Himself.

Even with this divine mercy and sacrifice, we often think we are too much for the Lord. Overwhelming thoughts lie to us, telling us that our sins are too great to ever be loved and redeemed by God. Sometimes, we drive ourselves mad obsessing over our sin and equate our worth to it.

God laid out commandments for us so we can be closer to Him. Yet, we continue to sin because that’s our nature. Sin is of the flesh, and the punishment for sin is death. So, God took on flesh in His son, Jesus.

He had to go through everything to save us from everything. When Jesus died on His cross, He paid our price in full. Sin and death thought they won, but when Jesus rose on the third day, He conquered all!

We are not saved a certain amount depending on how bad we deem our sin. We are entirely, joyously saved when we accept the gift of His grace. The enemy is lying to you through your relentless anxieties of shame and sin, insisting that Jesus lost.

The sin had such a hold on you, and now your anxieties try to cling on. How absurd it is to think that Jesus, the Messiah, is enough to be the Savior of the world, but not of your sins? Not of your soul? Not of your mind and your anxieties? If He is worthy of it all, as we sing, then give Him all.

He can handle it. You cannot. Not on your own, and you were never meant to.

Do not let your shame make you hide from the Lord. Instead, run to Him with it!

He is the only one who can restore it. Lay it down at His feet so He can show you your true worth as His beloved child.

Reflect with Him on what sins you struggle with and use that as an opportunity to humble yourself and work towards repentance. We are free from all sin through Jesus, not free from some sin. Hallelujah!

Jesus Christ, we thank you for your sacrifice, and we pray to see the redemptive and unchallenged power your sacred blood holds as we run to you.
