Peter’s decision to step out of the boat is one of the most daring acts of faith in Scripture. He risked the safety of the boat to walk toward Jesus on the water. For a moment, he succeeded. But when the wind picked up and the waves rose higher, his courage crumbled. He began to sink. The most beautiful part of the story is not that Peter walked on water, but that Jesus immediately reached out His hand and caught him.

Many of us know the feeling of sinking. Fear, grief, or doubt distract us from Jesus. Yet He does not scold us from a distance. He comes close. He rescues. Worship invites us to remember this truth and to declare it in our own storms. As you listen to “Oceans,” allow the words to become your prayer: “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders.” Then take a step, however small, in the direction of trust. That might mean making a phone call you have been avoiding, asking for help, or simply choosing prayer instead of worry.
