When God Shows Up: Real Stories of Faith

DAY 26 OF 30

Listen on Spotify or Apple Music: “Living Hope” by Phil Wickham

In Luke’s Gospel, a paralyzed man is carried to Jesus by his friends. The crowd was so large that they could not get through the door, so they climbed onto the roof, removed the tiles, and lowered him down right in front of Jesus. Their faith and determination moved the heart of Christ. Before the man ever walked again, Jesus forgave his sins and gave him new life.

This story highlights the power of community and the hope we find in Jesus. Sometimes our own strength is not enough. We need others to carry us. For women leaving prison, widows grieving deep loss, or young adults without family support, the faith of a small group of friends can make the difference between despair and hope. In the same way, God invites you to be the kind of friend who will not stop until someone is placed at the feet of Jesus.

As you listen to “Living Hope,” let it remind you that Jesus is the one who brings freedom, forgiveness, and new beginnings. Think of someone in your life who feels paralyzed by fear, grief, or sin. Pray for them, and then reach out with a word of encouragement, a meal, or an invitation to pray together. Carry them to Jesus in both prayer and action, believing that He can do what no one else can.

Reflect. Who in your life needs to be carried to Jesus, and what step can you take this week to bring them closer to Him?
