Holy, Healthy, Whole: Growing Fruits of the Spirit for Weight Loss and WellnessНамуна

True Beauty
Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. 1 Peter 3:3-4 (NIV)
God has placed within every woman's heart the desire to be beautiful.
As someone who struggles with weight, this topic might be loaded with emotion for you. Perhaps you have trouble seeing yourself as beautiful at all.
In 1 Peter 3, look at what God says about how you can have true beauty. It doesn’t come from the latest hairstyle or outfit, and it certainly doesn’t come from a specific number on the scale.
True beauty comes from a quiet and gentle spirit.
The more closely you walk with God, the more His beauty is reflected in you. People are naturally drawn to the fruits of the Spirit that they see in your life. When they catch a glimpse of Jesus in you, that’s when your true beauty shines.
Reflection: Do you see yourself as beautiful? How does the message of 1 Peter 3 impact your understanding of a woman's beauty?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me cultivate a quiet and gentle spirit that reflects Your love and peace. Let others see Jesus in me and be drawn not to me, but to You. Amen.
