Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. - 1 Peter 4:10

What do you have to give? It’s not as simple of a question to answer as you may initially think! That’s because the answer lies in more than just the typical or the tangible. It’s not so much about the money, the possessions, or the skills that we consider gifts to use on behalf of others. While those are certainly things we can use on behalf of others, they’re not all that we have to offer in service. Our time, our talents, our prayers, our compassion, our stories—all that and more we can use for the sake of someone else. They’re God-given gifts after all. They’re part of the way God made us, and that means they aren’t given to us without purpose. They’re given to us to be used, and one of the best ways to do that is to serve others with them.

Make a list of your gifts—the things you think God has given you. If you’re not sure where to start or struggling to add things to your list, ask someone close to you for help speaking into it. Then, consider how you can use each thing on your list specifically to serve others.
