Hello Friend! Welcome to A Legacy of Faithful Motherhood.
My name is Deb Weakly, and I lead Help Club for Moms. I am so glad you are here. This devotional plan is very close to my heart because it shares the beautiful words of my dear friend and Help Club for Moms writer, Virginia Oyler, who is now with her Savior in Heaven. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, and she lived her life pointing to Jesus. I know her encouragement will bless you and help you in your own motherhood journey.
Now, let’s begin today’s reading:
Day 1: Eternal Legacy—The Help We Need to Live Loved
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day." 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV)
Virginia understood the joys and challenges of motherhood. She knew the exhaustion, the questions, and the worries, but she also knew the deep peace that comes when you place every part of your motherhood into Jesus’ hands. She listened for His voice, traded fear for His peace, and invited Him into every single moment of raising her children.
The truth is, Mama, we cannot live loved in our own strength. We need Jesus to remind us who we are, to renew us when we feel weary, and to fill our hearts so full of His love that it overflows to our children and those around us. The same Jesus who guided and strengthened Virginia is with you today. He sees you in your motherhood journey. He knows your heart, your hopes, and your struggles.
Mama, whatever season you are in, whether you feel strong and steady or worn and weary, Jesus is your constant source of renewal. He is the One who will carry you, encourage you, and give you wisdom for every decision you face. You can trust Him completely.
You are not alone in this journey. We are walking it together, and most importantly, Jesus is walking with you.
Prayer:
🕊️ Lord, thank You for loving me. Show me how to live my life loved by You. Teach me to trust You more each day. Help me to keep my eyes on You, to find strength in Your presence, and to love my children with the same grace and patience You have shown me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
To end our time together today, I want to share some Scriptures with you from Ephesians chapter 3. I love these Scriptures so much because, as we talk about living our lives loved by Jesus, we have to remember that they encourage us to pray to understand His love.
The love of Jesus is so vast—it’s beyond anything we could ever know or experience. His love is mightier than anything. It is more sustaining than anything. It is vast and incredible.
I want to share with you Ephesians 3, starting in verse 16. This is Paul speaking:
"I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:16-19 (NIV)
And I pray that for you today, dear friend, that you would be filled to the measure of the fullness of God, because the Lord is teaching you how much He loves you. He is showing you a little more every day about His wonderful, wide, long, high, and deep love for you.
