Impulses for the Way: 30 Days on the Camino De SantiagoНамуна

Do Not Be Anxious
Start your reflection today by taking deep breaths. With your feet firmly on the ground, clench your fists and slowly release them. As you release, invite the Holy Spirit to speak to you.
In the video, Barrett traces the roots of anxiety to belief in false “good news” messages that if “something” doesn’t happen, everything won’t be okay. What are you expecting to happen? How would you feel if your expectations were not met?
Slowly read this Bible passage: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7, NIV).
Consider what anxious thoughts are dominating your mind.
Now offer this prayer to God:
“Lord, it is day. The day is for hope. Let us live in the presence of God. It is day after a long night. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. May it be.
"The day is unknown. Let our fears of the unknown, of our lives, and the world rest in you.
"The day is new. Let the newness of your mercies unfold to us. The day ushers in the light of life.
"Let us delight in each new moment, new melodies, new memories.
"In your name we pray. Amen.”
About this Plan

What if following Jesus was like walking the Camino de Santiago—dusty paths, vineyards, mountain passes, and ancient Roman roads? *Impulses for the Way* is a 30-day, video devotional filmed across 800km of this historic pilgrimage. Barrett Harkins, who lives in Santiago and serves pilgrims daily, shares stories from the trail, Scripture reflections, and prayers that explore restlessness, forgiveness, hope, and radical grace. Whether you’re on the Camino or navigating daily life, these short videos invite you to take the next step with Jesus—listening to the Spirit’s whispers and remembering this truth: you never walk alone.
