Welcome to Isaiah: Light Breaking Through Darkness. Before you journey through the book of Isaiah, watch the short overview video below. Isaiah prophesied during a pivotal point in Israel's history. Because of their sin, God sent Babylon to judge Israel. But Isaiah's ministry held out hope that God would save them through judgement. Isaiah told Israel that she needed to trust God more than she trusted false gods and other kingdoms. Though Israel refused to heed Isaiah's warning, God still chose to save her. And God saved Israel, not through judging them, but by the suffering and judgment Jesus experienced on the cross.

Isaiah 11:1–10 shows us that after judgment and devastation, God promises to raise up a new kind of King—one who will be filled with his Spirit, rule with perfect justice, and restore peace not only to Israel but to all creation. This passage captures the heart of Isaiah's message: that the hope of the world and the fulfillment of Israel's calling lies not in politics or power, but in the arrival of a Spirit-filled descendant of David—Jesus—who will make all things new.
