The Holy Spirit Leads

Sometimes, one simple act of obedience changes everything. In Acts 8, Philip obeys the Spirit’s unexpected call without knowing God’s full plan or purpose for it. But his willingness to obey allowed for a man’s life to be transformed forever. Let us look at what happened.

If Philip had ignored the Spirit’s prompting, the Ethiopian traveler, who was confused by the Scriptures, might have walked away still searching for answers. How many times do our busy lives drown out God’s voice, and how many opportunities do we miss to step into His plan for us?

Following the Spirit often means stepping into the unknown and trusting God beyond logic or comfort. Philip did not follow a clear plan; he followed the Spirit’s lead, and in doing so, the Ethiopian received the good news about Jesus.

Obedience like this is bold and surprising. It is a willingness to do what feels risky or even “ridiculous” because it is powered by the Spirit, and it opens the door for God to move through us.

Let this sink in: The Spirit speaks to you; the more you listen and obey, the more you will see His power break through in your life.
