YOU WERE MADE FOR THIS

Let’s explore what it looks like to move forward in following God in light of what the Lord asked of His people so many years ago.

First, we look at where we are, acknowledging that we are daily at a crossroads, presented with the choice to go with Him or not.

We identify the things that have been compelling our lives instead of Christ’s love.

We pray for greater awareness of the ways of our flesh and the tactics of the evil one that have been holding us back from boldly living out our faith.

We consider specific ways we can let the love of Christ compel us in our daily lives.

And we notice the joy, peace, and soul-deep rest that hap­pens on the other side of choosing Christ at our daily crossroads—on the other side of our middle moments.

As we follow God’s good, ancient paths, the Holy Spirit leads us to “un­derstand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return” (Philippians 1:10 NLT). God calls us to a challenging, countercultural journey. It is guaranteed to be a beautiful one, though, one that is worth any sacrifice you will make. In fact, this journey is worth your whole life!

You were made for this. You were made to walk with God, step by step, in the purposeful life He gave you. You were made a masterpiece in Christ Jesus to do good things that God planned long ago for you to do (Ephesians 2:10). You were made, not just to be loved by God, but to live from that love, coura­geously expressing your faith through the life you live (2 Corinthians 5:14).

Fear’s time of calling the shots is gone. Letting your love for comfort override your love for God has had its hour. The right time to live the life you were made for is right now.

Lord, thank You for calling me to walk with You on paths of purpose and peace. Give me eyes to see where I have settled for an easier, less satisfying road, especially places where I have followed fear instead of You. Awaken my heart to the quiet whisper of Your Spirit and give me the courage to respond with trust and obedience. Let the love of Christ compel me in all I do. Today, I choose You again. Amen.
