DAY 15 OF 21

In The Manifestation Of His Holiness During Conflicts - 2

“His mercies are new every morning.”

The life and ministry of Moses have a profound impact, teaching us valuablelessons on handling conflict, whether it arises at home or work. For 40 long years, Moses bore the burden of leading a nation of millions—millions who were often ungrateful, selfish, and quarrelsome. They complained and resisted, failing to see God’s mighty hand and His merciful presence among them. The relentless weight of this task wasn’t just for days or weeks but stretched across four decades. Moses’ mission was heavy: to stand as a mediator between a rebellious people and the holy, righteous wrath of God, while holding fast to the call to display God’s holiness.

We know that conflict isn’t just something Moses faced. It hits us close to home: parents and children not seeing eye to eye, tension between spouses, sibling rivalries, or unresolved issues at work. You can almost feel the atmosphere thick with tension, seeping into every room of the house or office. It’s the kind of conflict that distracts us from what really matters, pulling our focus from God’s purpose and leaving us exhausted. The question is, how do we handle it? Who will choose to represent God in these moments of conflict and join Moses in standing for what’s right?

Moses shows us the way with three practical steps:

1. First, he took his struggles straight to God, like a friend seeking counsel from the most trusted confidant.

2. Second, he obeyed God, even when the directions seemed unconventional or hard to follow.

3. Third, he stood in prayer, passionately interceding for those around him.

Unfortunately, even Moses reached his breaking point. At the waters of Meribah, when the people made yet another demand, he lost his patience. Overwhelmed by their stubbornness, he struck the rock twice in frustration, instead of following God’s instructions. Because of this, God told Moses he would not enter the Promised Land. Why? The answer is simple: “He did not demonstrate God’s holiness.” Manifesting His holiness is our calling.

Our God is a God of relentless mercy. Every morning, His mercies rise with the dawn, calling us to extend that same mercy to those around us. But let’s be real: the world is filled with waves of hostility—harsh words, selfish acts, and sneering looks. They come crashing over us, threatening to drown our joy in God and our focus on His glory. In those moments, we must fight to remember: “Look to God! Lift your gaze! Fix your heart on His love and beauty. Go outside, feel the wind on your face, and see the sky declaring His glory.” We need to drink deeply from His endless love, so that we can respond to the hurt we experience with holiness rather than irritation, bitterness, or retreat. In doing so, we allow God’s grace and holiness to overflow on this earth, becoming channels of His everlasting mercy!

When we choose holiness, we’re not just reacting; we’re transforming the moment. We can look those who have hurt us in the eye and respond with grace. We can start conversations, extend a helping hand, or do something kind— because our strength comes from God. This is how we bring God’s grace and holiness into the world. We become conduits of His never-ending mercy!

“Lord, thank You for Your mercies that are new every morning! Help us to reflect Your holiness through everyday acts of love and grace toward those around us. Fill us with Your patience and give us the endurance we need to walk in Your presence. Amen.”
