NOAH: A Message of Faithfulness

DAY 1 OF 7

The Way We're Meant To Live

“The way we’re meant to live.” It sounds simple on the surface, doesn’t it? But give it a few minutes—maybe just a few seconds—and the weight of that question starts to press in. Because in a world that’s loud with conflict and contradiction, figuring out how to reflect the heart of God can feel anything but simple.

Sometimes, it looks like quiet compassion—offering a listening ear. Other times, it means speaking truth that might ruffle feathers or shake the status quo. One moment, we’re called to wait in stillness; the next, we’re throwing ourselves into the thick of chaos. The details vary, but the foundation never changes: love God, believe God, and follow God. Because even when we don’t know what the answer is, we can know Who the answer is.

During this reading plan, we’ll dig into how the story of Noah teaches us how to live the life we were created for. Noah is called “righteous,” and yet, in the Bible, we’re told no one is righteous—not one. So, was Noah perfect? No. But he was faithful. In a world where every other heart had turned to evil, Noah stood out. His heart was turned towards God. He worshiped God. He walked with God. He followed God. He obeyed God. He believed God.

That’s what made him different.

The rest of humanity? Scripture says every intention of their hearts was evil. And evil, at its root, is the rejection of what God calls good. They were already making their own flood—one not of water, but of blood. Violence, the legacy of Cain, had become the standard of the day. It broke God’s heart. He could not watch His good creation destroy the world and themselves without consequences.

The way we’re meant to live isn’t just about checking moral boxes or making good decisions. On our own, we might manage moments of behavioral goodness. But to truly lean into God’s perfect intent for humanity? That takes surrender. Daily. Actively. Intentionally. Noah practiced this.

We do this by soaking in His Word, spending time in prayer, being with others who are chasing after His heart, reaching out to those who don’t, and constantly choosing His way over our own.

In a generation marked by doubt and destruction—may we be found faithful. May we be called righteous. May we live the way we were always meant to.
