Growing Your Faith: A Beginner's JourneyНамуна

Day 2: Remember and Rejoice
Can you imagine witnessing a miracle and still feeling fear? It may seem surprising, but it happens. You're not alone in this experience. As we revist Mark 16:1-8 again, let's turn our attention back to the responses of Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome after seeing the empty tomb. While worries gripped them on their way to the tomb, not seeing Jesus in the tomb actually left them afraid. Though they were part of an extraordinarily divine moment, it did not change their thoughts about the situation.
Have you ever felt like that? Afraid and worried despite having already experienced a miracle? Thankfully, being afraid does not exclude us from what God has for us. God meets us even when we do not have it all together as we continue to draw close to Him. Remember, our faith journey is not about perfection. While we may have fearful thoughts, God has given us strategies to overcome these thoughts, such as prayer, meditation on scripture, and fellowship with others who can encourage and provide words of wisdom.
One practical step in adopting a different mindset is to recount and celebrate God's mercy, grace, and the unexpected blessings He has bestowed on you. This is exactly what David did, as we see in the book of Psalms. He recounted the ways God was there for him; he vividly recalled the moments of divine faithfulness in his life. As you reflect on your life, pick 2-3 impactful moments where God's influence was undeniable and dwell on them. Do you know God has unexpected blessings in store for you? How would that truth change your approach to life?
