CollideНамуна

As unique as our lives are from one another, we have all prayed similar prayers during trying or challenging times. We have all probably asked God to heal someone or even to heal us. We have all likely prayed that something might stop or that something else might start. We have all prayed for a miraculous outcome, or perhaps just a normal one. Most of us, at some point, have prayed that something in our circumstances would change. Good news: There is nothing wrong with doing that! Because sometimes, things do change, and we get the results we want. However, the truth is that oftentimes, the story doesn’t end that way. Then what?
Well, when we look to Scripture for guidance, what we never hear coming from Jesus is a promise that we will get exactly what we are praying for. There is no guarantee we’ll get the results we so desperately want. Jesus never guarantees that the outcome will work out. But what we do have are verses like this one from Isaiah. No matter what we are facing, we have a God who is present in the midst of it. Whether things change or remain the same, we still know that God is with us.
What would it look like for you to pray with this truth in mind this week?

About this Plan

Change often feels like a collision. Getting jolted out of the rut of predictability doesn’t always feel good, but it does have the potential to lead to something positive. Scripture is full of examples of people who collided with God and were never the same because of it. That didn’t mean it was always easy, but it did mean they were forever changed as a result. What would it take to put yourself in a position to collide with God?
