Why Forgiveness MattersНамуна

Why Forgiveness Matters
Forgiveness is at the core of Christianity; it’s something we all recognize we need from Jesus. The problem for most of us is forgiving others.
We all have opportunities to forgive or get offended. Some of us have dealt with minor offenses while others have been through extreme trauma, abuse, tragedy, betrayal, and hurt.
It's often easier to forgive smaller offenses, but when it comes to the bigger ones, questions begin to surface: Do I really have to forgive? Is it even possible after what they did? Why should I forgive? What if they haven't apologized? What if I don't forgive? How do I forgive? What if it still hurts every time I think about it? What does life after forgiveness look like? Can I really be forgiven?
These are all great questions. Throughout this plan, we'll explore what the Bible says about forgiveness.
Here are some highlights from today's video:
- Today's study focused on whether we really need to forgive.
- The Bible gives us very clear direction: we are to forgive.
- The directions specify: any time, anything, and anyone.
- Jesus is our model of forgiveness.
- His example covers the extremes, not just the small offenses.
- His instructions are for our benefit, not to harm us.
About this Plan

Forgiveness is central to the Christian life, but often hard to give. This 8-day devotional explores why we should forgive, what happens if we don't, and how to begin the process. With Jesus as our model, we'll look at practical steps, biblical truths, and the freedom found in forgiving others and ourselves. Forgiveness isn't easy, but it is possible, and it's the path to healing, peace, freedom, & new life in Christ.
