Skills for Managing EmotionsНамуна

Written language allows us to express our thoughts and emotions in ways that can be heard and understood. We sometimes don’t have time to think reflectively in our fast-paced, hurried world. Endless social media scrolling and mind-numbing activities can help us avoid unwanted emotional states and uncomfortable inner dialogue. Therefore, journaling is a gift we can give ourselves. Writing on paper with a pen allows our brains to slow down, helping us be present with ourselves. When we are present with ourselves, we can then enjoy what it is to be present with God, who already knows our thoughts and still loves us.
