From Choke Point to Calling: Finding Freedom With JesusНамуна

Peter had returned to what he knew—fishing. But despite all his experience, he caught nothing. I know that feeling—working hard, doing what I know best, and still seeing no results. That’s when Jesus shows up. He tells the disciples to cast the net on the right side—and suddenly, abundance. This is a powerful reminder that I can’t produce spiritual fruit without Him. My frustration often comes from trying to do things in my own strength. But when I allow Jesus to guide my steps, even familiar places become sites of breakthrough. I need to trust His timing, His voice, and His wisdom—even when I feel stuck or empty.
- Where am I striving in my own strength and seeing little or no fruit?
- How can I create space to listen for Jesus’ voice and obey His leading today?

About this Plan

A 4-Day Journey Through John 21 This devotional plan invites me to walk with Peter through one of the most pivotal moments in his life—a moment where Jesus met him in his failure and frustration, not to condemn him, but to restore and recommission him. As we reflect on these four choke points, we can be reminded that Jesus longs to bring freedom in these same areas of our life too. This devotional plan is inspired by a powerful teaching originally shared by Dave Smith, Senior Leader of KingsGate Community Church, UK
