Unboxed: God's MasterpieceНамуна

Take a moment to think about your ideal life. What does it look like? No responsibility, no struggles, just taking it easy. That would be nice, but unfortunately, that’s not the reality of life – for anybody. Jesus promises to be with you and to guide and protect you, but there is no promise that your life becomes easy once you follow him. For some people, following Jesus is the most dangerous decision they will ever make. It means their families will reject or attack them. Why would those people follow him, then? Because he is the way, the truth, and he is life. They know what many Christians throughout history have known: Suffering in this life is worth it for Jesus.
In our passage today, Paul says something very important about suffering, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” If you think your life is under control, you are less likely to lean on God. But when you are “weak,” you are more likely to lean on him for support, and he is able to do bigger things for his glory and your good than you could possibly imagine!
Reflection Questions:
- How can you see in your own life that you need God’s strength? How does that change the way you live?
- Think of something you feel weak in. How can you lean on God for support in that situation and give him glory?

About this Plan

This is part 4 of 4 in the Feed Middle School series Unboxed: Created in God's Image. This plan unpacks Lesson 4: God's Masterpiece. God identifies us as his children. He designed us as his “masterpiece,” and through Christ, we are set free to do the good things he planned for us long before sin entered the world. We don’t need to cling to our own ideas of who we should be or what we must do. Being in Christ is enough.
