Day 4
PROVISION OF HEALING
But [in fact] He has borne our griefs, And He has carried our sorrows and pains; Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He was stricken, Struck down by God and degraded and humiliated [by Him]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-beingfellon Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. (Isaiah 53:4-5).
When the Psalmist writes that Jehovah is our Shepherd and we shall lack nothing, he was also speaking of our healing, not only of the body but of the soul as well.
What Jesus suffered before going to the cross were the marks that would bring us healing through Him.
Every ache of the soul, every wound, every suffering we endure in the world. What the world left us—the pain, the anguish, the fear, the lack of identity, the anxiety, the lack of forgiveness, the contempt, the abandonment—Jesus experienced all of these on the cross. For you and I to receive healing of the soul, our spirit must receive, through Jesus' sacrifice, the restoration of its life through Him. And this will lead us to complete healing. It is the physical body, from all sickness, from all pain, that we receive on the cross.
When we receive the provision of healing in our lives, we allow His fullness to be within us. It is His life within us that calls us to return to the heart of the Father, to return to that perfect fullness that only He knows how to give.
Perfect fullness is Jesus within us.
When Jesus offers us this provision of healing, it will also affect our finances, our relationships, and even our fulfillment of God's purpose.
The Father knew we would need complete healing to fulfill the purpose He had for us, which is why He gave us Jesus so that our healing would not only be in one area but encompass everything. That's why Scripture says He experienced pain, humiliation, and blows. Sickness fell upon Him, bearing all things, which represents every aspect of us, and He provided us with healing for every area: spiritual, emotional, and physical.
Jesus is the bridge that unites us to our purpose, as outlined by Heavenly Father. For this reason, the provision of healing He gave us on the cross encompassed our entire life.
