The Book of Ruth With Bianca Juarez: A 7-Day RightNow Media DevotionalНамуна

How do you think you’d feel if someone anonymously gave you a million dollars? In what ways would it change your life?
For the majority of us, a gift of a million dollars would certainly be a surprise blessing—it could benefit us in significant ways. In this session, we’ll continue to see the unexpected blessings Ruth and Naomi experience because of Boaz.
Reflect
Bianca said one of the reasons God blesses us is so we can bless others. In what ways have people used their blessings to bless you? How did their generosity change you or your circumstances? How did it make you feel?
What are some of the gifts or blessings God has given you that you could use to bless others?
Bianca warned that if we don’t see the purpose of our blessings, our handfuls will become handcuffs: our possessions will become obsessions, our position will have no mission, our occupation will lack a destination. When have you lost sight of God’s purpose for your possessions, position, or occupation? What could you do to keep the purpose of your blessings front of mind?
Respond
Ruth and Naomi’s story began with incredible tragedy. They journeyed back to Bethlehem with nothing. But God orchestrated their lives in such a way that Ruth just so happened to glean in Boaz’s field and Boaz just so happened to take notice and extend grace. God remains faithful to provide for Ruth and Naomi, but He’s not done yet.
This week, consider how you can use your resources, talents, and position in a way that honors God and blesses others. Pray for an opportunity to be a blessing to someone you encounter.

About this Plan

No one knows the feeling of abandonment more than Ruth and Naomi. Their story begins with the worst—death, famine, and poverty. But the book of Ruth doesn’t end with despair. The story brims with hope because God works on behalf of the two widows in ways they least expect. In this 7-part series, Bianca Juárez teaches through Ruth to show how God moves behind the scenes in our lives. On the surface, this book tells the story of two widows and a kind landowner. Even more, it teaches us about God’s faithfulness, love, and providence.
