Wisdom in the WordНамуна

Wisdom is more than what you know—it’s how you live. The truly wise are not defined by how much information they’ve gathered, but by the character they display in everyday life. Wisdom is shown through humility, gentleness, and a willingness to listen and learn.
Pride is often the greatest enemy of wisdom. When we’re full of ourselves, there’s no room for God to shape us. But the humble—those who recognize their need for guidance—are the ones who grow in true understanding. Wisdom and humility always walk hand in hand.
One of the key marks of wisdom is the ability to receive correction. A wise person doesn’t bristle at instruction or get defensive when challenged—they listen, consider, and apply what they’ve learned. Correction is not a threat to the wise; it’s an opportunity to grow. I’ve learned that thinking you have it figured out will keep you from truly figuring it out.
Wise people also seek out counsel. They don’t pretend to have all the answers. Instead, they value the perspectives of others and know that wisdom is found in listening more than in speaking. Sometimes, the wisest response is simply silence—a calm spirit that reflects self-control and discernment.
These traits don’t come naturally. They are the result of a heart surrendered to God and shaped by His truth. As we walk with Him, He forms in us the quiet strength, teachable spirit, and thoughtful responses that reflect heavenly wisdom.
Respond to God’s Word:
Practice listening well today. When someone corrects or challenges you—or offers input—pause, stay calm, and ask, “What might God be teaching me through this?” Be slow to speak and quick to learn.
Prayer:
Lord, I want to live with wisdom that shows in how I respond, how I speak, and how I grow. Shape in me a heart that welcomes correction, seeks counsel, and walks in humility. Let my life reflect Your wisdom, not just my words. Amen.
