John’s disciples ask why Jesus’ followers don’t fast like they do. Jesus responds with an illustration—new wine needs new wineskins. If you try to put new wine into old skins, they burst. What was His point? Jesus hasn’t come to patch up the old religious system; He’s bringing something completely new.

Jesus isn’t just an add-on to our lives—He transforms everything. The old ways of earning favour with God through rituals and rule-keeping can’t contain the new reality of grace through faith.

Today, ponder this: Are you clinging to old patterns of religion, trying to earn God’s love? Or have you embraced the new life Jesus offers?
