Easter: A Walk Towards Holy Week (10 Day Plan)Намуна

DAY 1 | The King's Entry
As Jesus approached Jerusalem, riding on a humble donkey, the people were filled with
excitement. Multitudes had gathered, waving palm branches, laying them at Jesus' feet and praising God for the mighty works they had witnessed.
They cried out the words from Psalm 118, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord." It was a glorious moment of adoration and hope. Yet, beneath this joyous celebration, a deeper narrative revealed the expectations and the misunderstandings of the people. The crowd was expecting a Messiah who would rule and reign and overthrow the Roman government. A savior that would remove the yoke of oppression and bring their freedom. However, Jesus came to fulfill a greater need—their salvation. Jesus came to defeat sin and death.
How often do we place our own expectations on Jesus, hoping He will fulfill our personal desires rather than aligning ourselves with His divine purposes? Take time to examine your expectations of Jesus. Are you hoping for Him to meet your personal desires, or are you seeking to conform to His will?
GUIDED PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, thank you for the salvation you gave me on the cross. Forgive me for the times I place my own desires above Your divine will. Help me lay down my expectations and surrender to your will for my life.
Amen.
