Walk With Jesus: 21 Days Through MatthewНамуна

Jesus was born to a young woman named Mary. An angel visited her fiancee Joseph in a dream and told him to name the baby Jesus, because he would save the people from their sin. "Jesus" was a common name at the time of Jesus' birth. It came from the Hebrew name "Yeshua", which means "Yahweh saves." (Yahweh is a name for God.) The word "Christ" is a Greek word that means anointed. So Jesus Christ was the anointed one who would save his people from their sin! After hundreds of years, God kept His promise to the Israelites. A King had come! Can you imagine what it must have felt like to know that the Messiah was there?
