Devotional:

“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me." John 10:27

In a world filled with noise, distractions, and competing voices, Jesus reminds us of the importance of recognizing and following His voice. As the Good Shepherd, He calls His sheep by name, leading them in the way of truth and life. But to follow Him, we must first learn to listen.

Listening to Jesus is not merely hearing His words; it requires an open heart, a surrendered spirit, and a willingness to obey. The more time we spend in prayer, reading Scripture, and seeking His presence, the clearer His voice becomes. He speaks through His Word, through the Holy Spirit’s prompting, and even through the wise counsel of others.

One of the greatest struggles believers face is discerning God’s voice amid the world’s clamor. Fear, doubt, and busyness can drown out His gentle call. But Jesus reassures us—He knows us personally. When we belong to Him, we can trust that He is always guiding us, even when we don’t understand the path ahead. Following Jesus means stepping out in faith, even when the way seems uncertain. It means trusting in His goodness, knowing that He will never lead us astray. The more we listen and obey, the deeper our relationship with Him grows.

Are you listening for the Shepherd’s voice today? He is calling you to draw near, to trust Him, and to follow wherever He leads. In His presence, there is peace, protection, and abundant life.

Prayer:

Pray for a heart that is attentive to God’s voice. Ask Him to quiet distractions and help you recognize His leading. Ask Him to get better and better at hearing His voice. And finally, ask for the courage to follow Him with faith and obedience.
