Easter – the Final HoursНамуна

Trial before Pilate
The trial before Pilate highlights the complexities of power and injustice. Pilate, an earthly ruler, finds himself caught in the web of political and societal pressures. He questions Jesus, who stands with an authority that is not of this world. It is here that we see Barabbas, a known criminal, set free – a vivid depiction of the scapegoat tradition of Yom Kippur. In these moments, we recognize our own role in this narrative, understanding that we are both the accused and the freed. Christ bears the weight of our sins, taking upon Himself the punishment that was meant for us.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, allow us to understand the power of Your sacrifice. Help us live lives that are worthy of the grace we have received through you.
