Reflection and Awe: Lent's PurposeНамуна

Reflections: Anchoring Our Hearts in the Hope of Christ
As we journey through Lent and look toward Easter Sunday, we have spent this week reflecting on the theme of Hope in Christ—a hope that is not fleeting or wishful but sure, steadfast, and rooted in Jesus.
It is a real, tangible, solid foundation that keeps us rooted and steady in the storm. Hope is the assurance of our future, bought and anchored in a living Savior who walked this earth, endured the cross, and rose victorious.
This week, we’ve been reminded that:
- Our hope is more than wishful thinking. It is an unshakable assurance in God’s faithful and true promises. This living hope transforms our perspective, giving us strength for today and a bright assurance for tomorrow.
- God’s Word is our anchor. In life’s storms, His promises are the anchor points we can clip into for security and peace. Have you found your anchor point? If not, ask God to reveal one of His promises that you can hold onto, especially during challenging times.
- Our hope inspires us to share. As we reflect on what Christ has done for us, let’s not keep it to ourselves. Be bold in sharing your story of how Jesus has transformed your life. It could be the spark that leads someone else to encounter His love!
Lent is not just a time to look inward; it’s a season to lift our eyes toward the cross and the empty tomb, where our hope and victory were forever secured. Take a moment to marvel at the awe-inspiring love that sought and saved us when we were lost and broken.
Application Steps for the Week:
- Anchor Your Hope: Memorize a promise from Scripture this week. Let it be your solid footing when challenges arise.
- Reflect and Share: Write down your elevator testimony—a brief, heartfelt story of how God has worked in your life. Be ready to share it as God brings opportunities your way.
- Pray for the Lost: Ask God to bring someone to mind who needs the hope of Christ. Pray for them and look for a chance to share the Good News.
- Rest in His Strength: When the weight of life feels heavy, remember the eternal inheritance awaiting you. Let that truth fill you with strength and peace.
This week’s reflection is not the end but a stepping stone as we walk through Lent. As we approach Easter, let us be filled with awe and gratitude for the hope only Jesus provides.

About this Plan

Lent is incredibly significant for many Christians across the globe. Traditionally marking the time before Easter, Lent is a period of preparation—a chance to focus and center ourselves toward the sacrifice of Jesus. As Advent prepares us for celebrating Jesus’ birth at Christmas, Lent is Easter’s Advent—a countdown to the expression of our faith in Christ’s death and resurrection. On this incredible journey, we will explore key topics like fasting, prayer, servanthood, freedom, and hope in Christ.
