Day 8: Resurrection Sunday

On Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate a truly extraordinary moment in human history—Jesus' triumph over death. In Matthew 28:1-10, we find ourselves at the tomb, experiencing an incredible scene alongside Mary Magdalene and the other Mary. As they approach, they're greeted not just by an empty tomb but also by an earthquake and a brilliant angel sharing the amazing news: "He is not here; He has risen!" It’s hard to grasp the joy and surprise they must have felt when they realised that Jesus, who was crucified and buried, was alive.

This moment embodies God's immense power and unwavering faithfulness. Through His resurrection, Jesus confirmed His identity as the Son of God, our Saviour, and the King of Kings. His rise from the dead is a powerful affirmation of all His teachings and a promise of eternal life for everyone who believes in Him. It fulfils God's promises throughout the Bible—promises of redemption, victory over sin, and life that transcends death.

More than just a historical event, the resurrection offers living hope for each of us. Because Jesus conquered death, we are reassured that our stories don’t end with death. We, too, can find new life in Christ, both now and for eternity. Just like the women who rushed to share the good news, we are called to share the message of Christ's resurrection with those around us—declaring that death has been vanquished and hope has been renewed.

The resurrection of Jesus truly represents the ultimate victory! Death has been overcome, and the promise of eternal life is firmly anchored in our faith. His resurrection showcases His divine power and the fulfilment of God’s promises to us.
