Surrender requires humility, a trait that isn’t often celebrated in our world.
Our society focuses instead on the question “What about me?” It becomes ingrained in us to think of ourselves before others, to look to our needs and wants, and to protect our Kingdom.
Jesus lived a life that looked very different from this. He did not use his divinity for his own interest, but gave it up to save us! If we were given divine power for a day, would our first reaction be to use it to fix our lives, or would we sacrifice it to help others? Is the inclination of our heart to be like Jesus, who humbled Himself for our sake?
What plans are you putting ahead of God’s will? Pray for humility to lay them down before God today and choose His way instead.
