Day 7: God’s Purpose in Our Circumstances
Joseph’s life was one of extraordinary highs and devastating lows. As a teenager, he had dreams of greatness that set him apart from his brothers—but those dreams seemed crushed when his brothers sold him into slavery. He was falsely accused and imprisoned, seemingly forgotten for years. Yet through it all, Joseph remained faithful to God, trusting Him in every circumstance.
When famine struck the land, Joseph found himself elevated to second-in-command over Egypt. It was through those difficult years that God had been preparing him for this moment—to save not only Egypt but also his family, including the very brothers who had betrayed him.
Here’s the truth: sometimes, our circumstances don’t make sense in the moment. We face struggles, setbacks, and heartbreak, wondering where God is in it all. But Joseph’s story teaches us that God has a greater purpose. The trials we endure today may be shaping us for something far greater tomorrow.
Think about your current circumstances. Is there an area of your life that feels unfair, confusing, or painful? Take a moment to surrender it to God. Ask Him to show you His purpose in it. You may not see the full picture now, but trust that He is working all things together for good.
Spend time in prayer today, asking God for the strength to remain faithful in the process. Declare over your situation: “What the enemy intended for harm, God will use for good.”

About this Plan

Over the next 21 days, we are setting aside time to seek God intentionally—through fasting, prayer, and giving. Matthew 6 reminds us that these three practices draw us closer to the heart of God and position us to experience His faithfulness in extraordinary ways. Each day, we'll be walking with you through stories from Scripture, personal reflections, and encouragement for this journey. Take time to reflect, pray, and let God speak to you. We're believing that as we lean into this together, He will do above and beyond all we could ask or imagine.
