It Is Christmas: The Journey of the NativityНамуна

Day 2: Joseph’s Dream – When God Turns Doubts into Direction
Reading: Matthew 1:18-25
Joseph was confused and hurt. The news of Mary’s pregnancy hit him hard. He loved her, but he couldn’t understand what had happened. His decision to divorce her quietly was an act of mercy, yet it reflected his broken heart.
It was in the silence of the night that God spoke. In a dream, the angel revealed the truth: “Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. What is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 1:20). Imagine the weight lifted from Joseph’s shoulders. What he thought was the result of sin was, in fact, the fruit that would conquer and defeat sin. He now understood he was part of something far greater than his doubts.
From Joseph, we learn that God often speaks in the midst of our confusion. He does not abandon His children. Even when everything seems uncertain, His Word guides us. Joseph trusted the divine message and acted in faith. He chose obedience, knowing he would face critical looks and judgments.
When we face situations that challenge our logic and shake our certainties, we are called to trust God. He turns doubts into direction when we seek His voice. Like Joseph, we can choose to obey, trusting that the God who calls us also equips us.
Christmas is an invitation to trust. It is the assurance that God works even amid uncertainties, bringing light to darkness and purpose to chaos.
Prayer:
“Lord, in the midst of my doubts, help me to hear Your voice. Give me the courage to obey like Joseph, trusting that You always have a greater plan. May my life reflect Your guidance. Amen.”
