Journey With Jesus 365Намуна

Matthew chapter 3 introduces John the Baptist, who preaches in the wilderness of Judea. He calls people to repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. He baptizes those who confess their sins in the Jordan River, and his message is a fulfillment of the prophecy from Isaiah about a voice crying in the wilderness to prepare the way for the Lord. The Pharisees and Sadducees come to John for baptism, but he rebukes them for their hypocrisy, warning them to bear fruits worthy of repentance. Jesus comes from Galilee to be baptized by John, and though John hesitates, Jesus insists to fulfill all righteousness. As Jesus is baptized, the heavens open, the Holy Spirit descends like a dove, and a voice from heaven declares, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
How can you prepare your heart for Jesus, like John the Baptist called people to do? What should true repentance look like in your life?
