A Year in Luke/ActsНамуна

Jesus values women. Contrary to the standard cultural practices of the time, Jesus involved women in His Ministry. In Luke 8:1-3, women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses followed Him as disciples. It would be surprising for women to travel as students of a respected rabbi, yet Jesus actively encouraged women, notably present in Luke’s Gospel narrative, to listen and learn from His teaching.
If Jesus cast out evil spirits, multiplied loaves and fishes, and so much more, why was it necessary for these women to provide for the group’s everyday needs? Jesus didn’t “need” them; they needed Him. The women recognized this, so they showed their love for the Christ who fulfilled their needs by serving Him.
