A Year in Luke/ActsНамуна

What would it look like to live beyond the here-and-now worries of life and live for eternity? To be a pioneer means going where no one has gone before and making the way for others to follow, to “Go through, go through the gates; prepare the way for the people…” (Is 62:10). Stephen was someone that because of his love for his people and the gospel, he could not keep silent. He went through a gate that no follower of Jesus had gone through before to make a way for others.
As we gather with the Body of Christ, we remember those throughout history and around the world who are mistreated, abused, and killed for their faith.
Lord Jesus, we thank you for those who have gone before us, for the shoulders we stand upon. May they be called “The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord…” (Is 62:12), and through their sacrifice, may we be grateful for the freedom we enjoy and inspired to follow you with everything, as they have. Amen.
