A Year in Luke/ActsНамуна

Jesus noted the sons of the world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light. Many believe him to be making the point that men of the world can be more passionate and zealous for their passions, versus men of God becoming complacent and/or comfortable.
I often think of John 2, after Jesus saw what the temple was turning into, he began flipping tables and drove the people out for turning the temple into a house of trade. After seeing this, the disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house consumes me.” In the same way that Jesus was zealous for the house of God, seeking to uphold the will of his Father, so are we also called to be.
"Go to the men of the World, thou Christian, and do not let it be said that the devil’s scholars are more studious and earnest than Christ’s disciples." - Alexander Maclaren.
