What Is My Identity in Christ? Finding Purpose in the Pursuit of LoveНамуна

Living in God's Kingdom
Focus
Imagine being a citizen of a glorious kingdom, living under the benevolent rule of a wise and loving queen or king. Know that as a follower of Christ, you are a citizen of God’s Kingdom. Read today’s Scripture with an awareness of your heavenly citizenship.
Reflection
In the Gospels, Jesus talked much about the Kingdom of God and Heaven. The word translated into English as “Kingdom” can also mean “reign” or “realm of influence”. Our identity is rooted in our citizenship in God’s Kingdom. At a time when the world fights over who is ruling and reigning, we live under the reign of a heavenly love. We live under the rule of Christ, whose power transforms us and the world. This truth shapes our values, actions, and purpose.
Apply
Reflect on how your heavenly citizenship influences your daily life. How can you live out the values of God’s Kingdom in your interactions and decisions?
Respond
God, thank you for making me a citizen of your Kingdom. Help me to live according to your values and to seek your will in all that I do. Transform me to reflect a love for you and my neighbors and even my enemies. Amen.
