God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 1 )Намуна

Galatians – Day 5
At the end of his letter to the Galatians, Paul provides examples of fruits of the spirit and the flesh. These seemingly serve as a list of character traits and activities to avoid and a list of ones to pursue. Most of the book of Galatians discusses justification through faith, meaning salvation cannot come through works. So why does Paul then give what appears to be a list of good works to complete?
The fruits of the spirit are about being, not doing. Branches do not bear fruit out of their effort but as a result of being connected to the vine. If we abide in Christ, we will grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
