Day 1: Understanding the Power of Prayer

Devotional: Although I’ve always understood the power of prayer, I feel my relationship deepened through certain seasons of life. Like the season known as motherhood. I laugh while I type this because prayer seems like the prerequisite to ALL of a mother’s firsts. The first time you send your child to school. The first time he/she joins an extracurricular activity. And even the first time he/she leaves your house without you! It seems every moment of motherhood involves prayer. You see, prayer is a powerful tool given to us by God to connect with Him and intercede for others. James 5:16 tells us that "the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." As we seek to ignite our prayer life, it is essential to recognize that our prayers hold power. They can bring healing, transformation, and breakthroughs in our lives and the lives of others. I’ve made it a priority to pray every morning and evening with my son. This not only teaches him how to pray but, models what it looks like to be in a relationship with God. Today, reflect on the significance of prayer and commit to approaching God with confidence and expectancy.

Prayer Prompt: Heavenly Father, we ask that You help us to see the true power of prayer and to ignite a passion for praying with faith and conviction. We pray to move from a spark to fully ignited in Your Word and Your Way in Jesus' Name!
