Divine distinction
In a world consumed by the pursuit of earthly wisdom and fleeting pleasures, Daniel and his companions stood apart. They didn’t conform to the standards of the world but remained steadfast in their devotion to God. Their faithfulness in the small things – their diet, their prayers – set them on a path of divine favour and distinction. Their journey wasn’t without challenges. They faced trials that tested their faith and convictions. Yet, in every trial, they emerged victorious, not by their own strength, but by relying on the wisdom and guidance of God. Their lives exemplify the truth that true wisdom comes not from the knowledge of this world, but from a deep and intimate relationship with God.
As Proverbs 2:6 reminds us, ‘For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding’. In our own lives, let us seek wisdom not only for our own advancement, but for the glory of God. Let us remain faithful in the face of adversity, knowing that God is with us, guiding us every step of the way. Just as Daniel remained in Babylon until the first year of King Cyrus, let us remain steadfast in our faith until the day we stand before our heavenly King. May we, like Daniel, be found faithful and ten times better in every matter of wisdom and understanding, to the praise of His glory. Amen.

About this Plan

It is always encouraging and empowering to read the Bible stories of those who have faced persecution and hardship, but also favour and miraculous breakthroughs! Daniel is one such man and ‘his story inspires us to hold fast to our faith and principles, knowing that they can guide us through life’s most turbulent waters’ (Daniel – Heidi Wysman)
