God's Redemption Story (The Gospels)Намуна

Jesus’ Arrest, Trial, and Crucifixion - Day 4
When Judas betrayed Jesus, he knew right where to go. He led the Roman soldiers and temple guards to the garden where Jesus had met his disciples before. John tells us they came with lanterns and torches. How ironic that they brought lanterns to look for the Light of the World. Sometimes we make life so hard. We ask God why he seems so far away or why he isn’t helping us in a particular situation. We can’t find God, so we assume he isn’t there.
In the garden, Jesus didn’t run or avoid their questions. He asked who they wanted, and when they named him, he plainly identified himself. God isn’t trying to hide from us. When life is hard and confusing, we can simply ask him where he is. He will gladly step forward to talk with us.
