Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneНамуна

And David said with longing, “Oh, that someone would give me a drink of water from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!” (1 Chronicles 11:17).
How loyal are you to God’s leaders?
David yearns for a drink of water from Bethlehem, his birthplace; however, the Philistines block the way. Three of David’s mighty men risk their lives to fulfill his desire. First Chronicles reports, “So the three broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David” (1 Chronicles 11:18). Now that’s loyalty! David is a man of war; he needs faithful and loyal men by his side. Through the ages, loyal servants have stood with men of God. Think about the following list of loyal assistants to their leader: Joshua, Caleb, Elisha, Timothy, Epaphroditus, and the apostles.
Employment Point: Be loyal to the men of God in your life.
