LET YOUR HEART BE AFTER GOD'S HEART

Sometimes, when you look at David's life, you wonder why God liked him; this is David's secret: He was a man after God's own heart. The man whose heart is after God's own heart will be touched by whatever touches God; what moves God will also move him. You must find out the things that touch God's heart and sincerely ask yourself, "Do the same things touch my heart?"

There are times in our ministry journey when the allure of our position can overshadow God's feelings. This is when we risk falling into the same trap as King Saul. In 1 Sam 15:20-24, Saul, against God's command, spared Agag and the spoils that were meant for destruction. This act of disobedience and rebellion cost him the very thing that made him a man after God's heart.

Our aim should always be to be individuals who seek to align our hearts with God's. What is in God's heart, and what affects His heart, should also affect us. If we can achieve this, God will work with us. In fact, the highest honors of the kingdom are reserved for those whom He can trust. Consider Eleazar, the son of Aaron, whose heart was after the Lord. His commitment to God secured him a divine promise that lasts for eternity.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to cultivate the heart that is after your heart, and that is moved by what moves your heart.
