Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Proverbs 27: 1 again.
- What stands out to you?
- What does it indicate about following God's plan?
- What questions do you still have?
A: Application
- What's one way you're learning to listen to God in how you spend your time and commitments?
- How does this passage invite you to think about time differently?
- What do you think could change about your priorities if you do?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer, committing your time to God. Consider what things should take top priority and let go of the parts of your plan you can't control. Ask God to help you follow through on something you shouldn't push off until tomorrow. Say thank you for the ways God gives guidance.

About this Plan

Coaches create the strategy, put together a game plan, and send their players out to make it happen. Wouldn't it be nice for someone to do that for all of our decisions? In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore Proverbs and Epistles to help us learn how God guides us toward wisdom and helps us make godly decisions.
