Our teens spend a lot of time in the classroom. I know it’s easy for us to be fearful of what they’re learning and who they’re learning it from. We all want positive role models and loving teachers to influence our teens. Whatever type of school your child is in, pray the Lord will give your child older mentors who support and encourage them.

And even though your teen might not admit it, you are still the biggest influence in their life. They might not seem like they are even aware that you exist, but they are listening to what you say and impacted by your example. The warmth of your welcome, the kindness of your encouragement, and the support you offer will leave a lasting impression on your teen. Whatever type of education they are receiving, your home is their foundation. Each day is a new opportunity to teach them about God, his Word, and his gracious love for the world. It’s good news we get to share—and that begins in the home.
