Remission: Substitutionary Sacrifice
Every heinous act of violence committed to Christ on the cross was meant for us. We should have been up there bearing the brunt of our sinful lives, but Jesus went in our stead. He was our substitute.
Though sinless, He willingly took on the weight of our sins, becoming the sacrifice that brings us righteousness and peace. In His substitutionary sacrifice, we find forgiveness and the gift of His righteousness imputed to us. The cross is the eternal exchange - where our guilt is replaced by His grace and our shame with His glory.
Before you journal today, praise Jesus and worship Him for being your substitute. Express your gratitude to Him sincerely.
Journaling Prompt:
Illustrate the concept of substitutionary sacrifice. Use symbols and colors to convey the exchange that took place on the cross, emphasizing the transformation from sin to righteousness.
