God's Redemption Story (Judges - 2 Samuel)Намуна

David & Bathsheba - 5/5
Bathsheba likely didn’t get a whole lot of say in what happened to her. David was king, and the culture of that time didn’t give her an option to say no. Given her traumatic experience—assaulted by the king, the murder of her husband, the death of her son—she could easily have fallen apart. She could have blamed David, herself, and God. We don’t know much about Bathsheba’s response to her experience, but we do know that she rose out of it.
She was bold enough to hold conference with the king, and her relationship with Solomon was strong enough that he had a throne for her placed next to him. She did not fall apart, or at least did not stay fallen. It may have taken time, it probably wasn’t easy, and it most definitely wasn’t fair. Yet even out of heartache, God still used Bathsheba in the lives around her.
