Old Testament OverviewНамуна

Today we begin the story of Joseph. It is a lovely story of salvation and redemption. Joseph is a forerunner of Jesus; as you read his story, consider how God is fulfilling His covenant promises in a very particular way. Also consider the parallels with the life, ministry, and redemptive work of Jesus.
After reading the passage use these questions as the basis for your discussion.
1. What stood out for you / what was interesting and why? (The Holy Spirit’s prompting)
2. What was the passage about / the main message / big idea? (The Word of God)
3. What should we do / how can we apply this message? (Faith in Action)
For Groups: If you haven't done so yet, share the reading by dividing the passage amongst all participants. The 'leader' for that day should ideally look at the passage ahead of time in order to give them some idea of the content, as well as how the reading can best be shared.

About this Plan

This plan is designed for families (our girls were under 10 when we used it); it can also be used for personal devotion. Each day uses the same 3 questions to explore the text. The plan provides a comprehensive "bird's eye view" of the Old Testament; the aim is to understand the first phase of God's salvation plan through the Covenants (relationships) which He established with His people.
