If you ever think God can’t redeem you, look at the life of the apostle Paul. As the church was born, he openly persecuted the church. His sin led him to do unspeakable things, but God had a plan. When confronted by Jesus on the way road to Damascus, Paul has a literal “come to Jesus” moment. Paul’s encounter with Jesus was different than most of ours will be, but his response doesn’t have to be. Paul was so zealous and determined to serve God, that he would murder and persecute others. He was extremely misled but was sensitive enough to see the error of His ways when confronted by Jesus. Even those he ended up preaching to were confused at the sudden change of heart, but that’s what is so amazing about grace. It doesn’t leave you labeled a murderer or a failure. It picks you back up and sets you on a road of redemption. Paul knew it full well. It was by God’s grace alone that he could turn his life and his future around. We have a choice to follow Jesus today. We can throw out the old and usher in the new thanks to Him. If He can give Paul a second chance, can’t He give you one?
