14 Prayers for a Widow's JourneyНамуна

...whose minds are steadfast...
I welcome the distraction of things that have no emotional cachet. HGTV. Animal videos. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Guaranteed happily-ever-after novels or movies. I have no tolerance for anything that’s sad or hard or depressing because my life is currently all these things, and I will not willingly invite more in.
How precious is the promise, Lord, that You will keep us in perfect peace if we fix our minds on You. Even as I use the distractions to fill the long evenings, I recognize they are merely fillers. You are the giver of grace and peace. You alone.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
